While most university students are still on winter break, a select group of dancers meets to take class and rehearse. The 13 members of Dancers In Company began rehearsals yesterday for our spring season. The pieces will be performed all around Iowa and the Midwest, on large stages, in elementary schools, and for a range of audiences. We are hoping to tour Veracruz, Mexico as well! The repertory ranges from modern to contemporary ballet.
I just began work on a contemporary ballet duet choreographed by Eloy Barragan. I will also be learning a piece by choreographer Julie Bour, and finishing work on a group piece by Armando Duarte. The repertory is proving to be interesting, challenging, and rewarding.Mark the date on your calendar for the spring show- March 3, 4, and 5th!
