This season I had the opportunity to perform not only in one, but two "Nutcracker" productions.  I was featured as the Sugar Plum Fairy for Iowa Dance Theatre in Des Moines, and the Turks and Caicos Friends of the Arts Foundation on the island of Providenciales. 

For me, Nutcracker has always been inseparable from holiday celebrations, but it was especially pertinent this year.  I not only returned as a featured guest artist to a stage I grew up on, but also was part of the first Nutcracker ever performed on the island of Provo.  Both were delightful experiences~ almost as sweet as dancing sugar plums. 

This fall I had the unique opportunity to be in a collaborative dance and theater piece, created and directed by Martha Clarke.  The piece, "In the Night," explored dreams.  It was simultaneously haunting, bizarre, beautiful, and grotesque.  The photos posted below were taken during a performance and are posted on the UI Theater department's website.
