Jenn Pray is a Twin Cities based dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist. Originally from central Iowa, Jenn graduated with high distinction from the University of Iowa in 2012 with a BA in Dance & International Studies. Her teaching and performance credits span the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Jenn has worked with choreographers and companies including Threads Dance Project, STRONGmovement, Live Action Set, Ballet Minnesota, Julie Bour, Gina Patterson and Penny Freeh.
Jenn has been a company artist with Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater (SPDT) since 2017. As part of SPDT's innovative model of community engaged art, Jenn leads workshops on statewide and national tours. Additionally, she is on faculty at Ashley Ballet Arts Academy and Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists where she teaches ballet and modern. Jenn is the recipient of the Gaia Fenna Memorial Fellowship at Tofte Lake Center (2020) and was an Iowa Center for the Arts Scholar (2008-2012). In addition to performing, Jenn has presented her own work at Tanzwerkstatt Europa in Munich, at the Henny Jurriëns Stichting in Amsterdam, and the Southern Theater in Minneapolis. She has created commissions for Threads Dance Project, Iowa Dance Theatre, the Minnesota Museum of American Art, and at festivals, galleries and museums throughout the Midwest.
